Zip lining, giant swing, canoeing and that was just the beginning! On Wednesday morning, the Grade 6’s, together with their teachers, packed their bags into the buses and off we went for an adventure of a lifetime.
The excitement was building as we approached Adrenalin Addo and also a bit of curiosity as to what to expect.
After a bumpy bus drive, we finally arrived. The learners were put into teams and were told to create a team name, flag and language. Following the team presentations, the learners needed to pitch their own tent if they wanted somewhere to sleep over the next two nights. This proved to be a challenge as some learners had never pitched a tent before but through sheer determination (and the thought of sleeping on the cold, wet grass), they had somewhere to rest their heads.
Over the next two days, the teams rotated between zip lining (the highest, longest and fastest double zip line in South Africa), giant swing (what an adrenalin rush!), canoeing, raft building and survival games.
Many new friendships were formed and new skills were learnt but most importantly, great fun was had by all!
