Grade 4 Sumcay Camp

April 13, 2018

On Monday the 19 March the long awaited Sumcay Outing arrived.

The early morning buzz in the playground was almost overwhelming as 130

over anxious Grade Fours greeted their teachers at lines.

On our arrival at Sumcay the pupils were allocated to their dorms and briefly

enjoyed a short break to eat their lunch.

Afterwards, the boys swam in the pool under the supervision of Mr Garner

and the girls went to the Hall to design their shields for their dorm doors.

They also delighted us with a war cry for their dorm motto.

We had an enjoyable afternoon down on the river embankment and the

children has plenty of free time to play with their friends.

After supper Mr Garner built a bonfire and entertained all of us with his

bonfire songs. We will definitely miss Mr Garner and his antics at Sumcay

next year.

The following morning the pupils did a scavenger hunt.

Of course the dorm inspection did not go according to plan with many lost

property items of clothing to be found everywhere.

The meals provided were superb and very soon we had to say good-bye

to Sumcay.
