Championship Gala 2017

Herbert Hurd’s annual swimming Championship Gala was held on Tuesday evening, 17 October 2017. Approximately 90 swimmers from Grade 1 through to Grade 7 participated in the evening’s events showcasing excellence in aquatics.

 

This year’s Championship Gala saw a total of 8 records being broken. Ethan Renze set new records for the boys open 100m IM, 50m butterfly and 50m breaststroke. Tristan de Klerk broke the u7 boys 25m backstroke while Kayden O’Connor set a new record for the girls u7 25m breaststroke. Myra Viduya and Jordan Erasmus set a new record for the girls and boys u10 25m breaststroke while Katelyn Pienaar broke the record for the u12 50m breaststroke.

 

All pupils selected to participate in the Championship Gala can be extremely proud of their hard work and dedication to swimming throughout the year.
