Grade 2 Reading Competition
On Wednesday the 25 October the annual Grade 2 Reading Competition was held in the Media Centre. There were 8 finalists chosen from the Grade who needed to read both prepared and unprepared passages. The adjudicators were Mrs Kim Ranwell, Mrs Janine Yarborough and Mrs Michelle Berrington.
Well done to the eight finalists: Rebecca Burgess, Erin Belling, Wade Belling, Greer Olivera, Valentino Lavers, Joshua Morilly, April Gabriel and Amile Tom. Well done to Rebecca who won the competition and to Greer and Joshua who were highly commended. A special 'thank you' must also go to Mrs Richardson who so beautifully ‘fills the gaps” and entertained us with Dirty Bertie and his mischievous adventures.
They say… “There is magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book!” – Dr Seuss
How wonderful to witness the love of reading and the eloquence in which these readers make the stories come alive! Let’s continue to encourage our children to find that magic in a EVERY book!
