Interhouse Athletics Day 2017

The annual Interhouse Athletics Day took place on Friday, 22 September at the Westbourne Oval. There was great excitement amongst the pupils as they could compete in almost all the events. Our dedicated staff once again ensured that proceedings ran smoothly. The class shuttle relays were closely contested and increased the excitement amongst the pupils and staff.

The highly anticipated sprint finals didn't disappoint and each race was nail biting. The ever-popular relay baton races were the crowd favourite and ran without any hiccups.

Chapman House won the Interhouse trophy and Kennersley House was awarded the Spirit trophy.

The final results were as follows:

1. Chapman 591

2. Weymouth 515

3. Kennersley 515

4. Albury 508

The following athletes set new records:

Myra Viduya - 1000m

Jasmin Esau - high jump

Caitlin Manley - 1000m

Megan-Rose Collins - long jump

Cassidy Trumpeter - shot put

Meghan Baxter - high jump

U10 Girls Baton relay - Weymouth House

U12 Girls Baton relay - Weymouth House

The Best Junior Athletes were Myra Viduya and Fagan Gericke. David Forbes and Meghan Baxter were the Senior Victor and Victrix Ludorum winners.

A good all round effort from staff and pupils made this day a memorable one.
