Hobbiton 2017

Every year the Grade Sixes take the trek up to Hogsback for their camp. 120 excited girls and boys arrived at school ready to hit the road and have some fun! Our first stop was at the 1820 Settler Monument in Grahamstown for a toilet break and a snack. Once we reached Hobbiton on Hogsback, we went about getting our bunks sorted and there was no time to waste as we got stuck into our first set of rotations.

Through the course of the next 3 days, they were all challenged to work as a team, rely on each other and challenge themselves in obstacles that were scary but never dangerous! Abseiling, trapeze, Jacobs ladder, zipline, middle ropes course and Raft Building were a few activities that kept us busy. Games in the hall and hikes were top of the list as we ventured out to Kettle Spout, Madonna and Child, Thumye and Swallowtail falls.

Night hikes, Hobbiton's Got Talent, shoelaces tied together and who will ever forget those Stink Bombs!!! All in all it was a great '4-day adventure with no parents' and it helped grow the Grade Six bunch from kids into young adults.

Thanks to the teachers who gave up time with their families to go to Hobbiton.

Photos will be added to the gallery as they are edited.
