The annual Grade 7 Reading Competition was held in the media centre on Wednesday, 1 August 2018.  Our adjudicator was Mrs J Warneke who did a sterling job in selecting the top two readers from a competent group of Grade 7 pupils.

The book that was chosen to be read was "I am Number Four” written by Pittacus Lore.  This science fiction novel is about a 15-year-old boy named John Smith.  He has been on the run since the age of 4, and he is from the planet called Lorien.

Well done to the eight finalists: Abbey van den Berg, Alexis de Vos, Lizwi-Lenkosi Matomela, Petra Coltman, Michela Lamerton, Amy van Wyk, Jordan Jenneker and Amirah Mayet.  Well done to Amirah who won the competition and to Jordan who was highly commended.  A special 'thank you' must also go to Mrs Richardson who gave us an introduction to the book and who kept the story going throughout the competition.
