It was a bit windy, but we all set off down to the bottom field to have our annual Interhouse Sports Day on Friday, 13 April. This was not a day to have a Friday-the-13th phobia. The fun races always provide many laughs and giggles and some cheating too. The class races were very exciting and everyone raced their best.
The Championship Races were next and these always tends to be more serious as we have medals up for grabs. It was most impressive seeing how fast our little ones run. The winners in Grade One were Paetyn Gravett and Micah Groener, both in Chapman. In Grade Two it was Zoë Jerling(Chapman) and Tayton Plato-Uithaler(Weymouth) outrunning the rest. Bianca Graham(Kennersley) and Jaryd van Loggerenberg(Chapman) took the honours in Grade 3. We are sure that maybe one day we will see these super athletes running for South Africa in the Olympics.

Congratulations to Myra Viduya who achieved 11 medals in the South African Level Two Swimming Gala held in Oudsthoorn from 7-9 April.
The Herald featured an article about Myra yesterday. In the article we read that Myra trains 5 times a week and that her ultimate goal is to swim at the Olympics one day. Her coach, David Glover, describes her as a hard worker who is extrremely talented - she does not have a weak stroke!

The Early Act group visited Home Sweet Home at the St Joseph’s Centre in Central, Port Elizabeth.
Home Sweet Home is a home where dedicated Sisters, Staff Nurses and Caregivers are there to assist the residents 24 hours a day. They have been specially chosen for their expertise, experience, compassion and for the passion that they have for working with the elderly. Home Sweet Home also has an attending Doctor and Physiotherapist.
The Early Act Group sang a variety of songs to entertain the elderly and spoiled them with some delicious cupcakes.
It was a special time spent with some very special people.
